Hypnotherapy

Unlocking your happiest self

Have you ever struggled with new habits, consistency or making positive change?

Perhaps you started a new hobby or lifestyle change with the best intentions, but couldn't help reverting back to old habits.  Maybe you crave less anxiety, more motivation, better sleep, a different job, to feel more balanced, confident and happy, but nothing seems to hold.

Why does this happen?

Imagine your mind as a computer. It runs various programmes, follows the code it has learned, and responds in the only ways it knows how. Over time, some of these programmes become outdated, unhelpful, or even harmful, yet they continue running in the background, influencing how you think, feel, and behave.

Translated into human terms, our subconscious mind operates from the beliefs and patterns installed throughout childhood and across our entire lives. These become so deeply embedded that we may be unaware of them, or feel powerless to change them. This is often why we repeat old patterns despite wanting a different outcome — whether it’s around mental state, eating habits, relationship challenges, or giving up on our goals and dreams.

The good news is that these patterns are not fixed.   We can absolutely take back control.  Hypnotherapy is a powerful, gentle, and effective way to update the subconscious programmes that no longer serve us, and replace them with new programmes that support balance, confidence, strength, enabling us to live the life we truly want to live, and achieve our goals.

How does hypnotherapy help?

Hypnotherapy works by guiding you into a deeply relaxed, focused state where the subconscious mind becomes more open and receptive to positive change. In this state, the “old programmes”  (beliefs, habits, and emotional patterns that have been running in the background for years) can be updated. You’re not asleep, and you’re not giving up control. Instead, your mind becomes quieter, your awareness turns inward, and you gain access to the part of yourself where real transformation happens. Through carefully crafted suggestions, visualisations, and therapeutic techniques, hypnotherapy helps you release outdated patterns and install new, empowering beliefs that support who you are today and who you want to become.

What happens during a session?

A session with me is designed to feel safe, calm, and deeply relaxing.  We'll discuss what you’d like to change or improve, what’s been holding you back, and what outcome you’d love to experience instead. This helps shape the direction of the session.

  • Deep relaxation You'll sit or lie comfortably while I guide you into a soothing, peaceful state. Most people describe this as feeling like a daydream or a deep meditation.

  • Subconscious reprogramming Once you’re relaxed, I'll use tailored suggestions, imagery, and therapeutic techniques to help your subconscious mind release old patterns and absorb new, healthier ones. This part feels effortless - your mind simply becomes more open to change

  • A gentle return to full awareness You’ll come back feeling refreshed, grounded, and often lighter, as though something has shifted internally.

  • Practical integration How we'll support the new patterns in your daily life, so the changes continue to strengthen long after the session ends.

Why do people choose hypnotherapy?

  • Anxiety & Stress Relief This is consistently the number‑one reason people seek hypnotherapy. It helps calm the nervous system, reduce overwhelm, and interrupt spiralling thought patterns.

  • Confidence & Self‑Esteem - Many people turn to hypnotherapy to shift old stories about not being “enough,” build inner confidence, and feel more capable in work, relationships, and daily life.

  • Habits & Addictions (e.g., smoking, vaping, overeating) Hypnotherapy is widely used to break unhelpful habits and addictions by targeting the subconscious drivers behind them. Smoking cessation is one of the most common requests, and emotional eating/weight issues are also major reasons people seek help.

  • Weight Loss & Emotional Eating - Because eating patterns are often tied to emotions and subconscious beliefs, hypnotherapy is frequently used to address emotional eating, cravings, and body‑related habits.

  • Relationships & Emotional Patterns - People often seek hypnotherapy to shift recurring relationship patterns, heal from past experiences, or attract healthier dynamics. It helps change subconscious beliefs around love, self‑worth, and connection.

How does hypnotherapy support  Hormonal Health?

There is strong evidence on how hypnotherapy can support hormone‑related challenges in several meaningful ways, especially during peri‑menopause and menopause.

🧠 1. Calming the Stress Response

Stress is one of the biggest disruptors of hormonal balance. Chronic stress affects the HPA axis — the system that regulates cortisol, adrenaline, thyroid hormones, and sex hormones.
Hypnotherapy helps calm this system by reducing stress and emotional reactivity, which can support more stable hormonal rhythms.

💛 2. Healing Emotional Patterns That Affect Hormones

Trauma and long‑held emotional patterns can dysregulate hormones by keeping the body in a heightened stress state.
Hypnotherapy allows people to safely process and reframe these experiences, reducing their physiological impact.

🍽️ 3. Supporting Healthier Eating Patterns

Diet plays a major role in hormone regulation. Poor eating habits, cravings, and emotional eating can worsen hormonal symptoms.
Hypnotherapy helps reprogram subconscious habits around food, reduce cravings, and increase motivation for healthier choices.

😴 4. Improving Sleep — a Key Hormonal Regulator

Sleep deprivation disrupts cortisol, growth hormone, and appetite‑regulating hormones like ghrelin and leptin.  Hypnotherapy promotes deep relaxation and reduces anxiety, which can improve sleep quality and support hormonal balance.

🔥 5. Reducing Menopausal Symptoms

Hypnotherapy has been shown to reduce the frequency and intensity of hot flushes and night sweats, with one clinical trial showing an 80% reduction after five weekly sessions.  It also supports mood stability, emotional wellbeing, and sleep, all of which are affected by hormonal shifts.

🌸 6. Supporting Emotional Wellbeing During Hormonal Transitions

Hormone‑related challenges often come with anxiety, low mood, identity shifts, and overwhelm.
Hypnotherapy provides a safe space to process these feelings and build resilience, confidence, and calm, which can ease the emotional load of menopause and other hormone‑related conditions.

Hypnotherapy doesn’t change hormones directly, but it powerfully influences the systems that regulate hormones, such as:

  • stress response

  • sleep

  • emotional patterns

  • lifestyle habits

  • nervous system balance

When these improve, the body is better able to find hormonal balance.
